Later on it called "Orfiye" and
then called "Ceyhan" because of River
Ceyhan in 1926.
It's just in the middle of Cukurova at the shore
of Ceyhan river, in the east of Adana for 43 kms.
It's neighbour with Kadirli in the North, Yumurtalik
in the south, Yüregir in the west.
International high way is very near to Ceyhan.
In 2000, its population is 178.543.
108.602 of them in city center, others in villages.
3 subdistricts, 71 villages, and 10 municipali
trejare tre. It's 1427 km².
There are two mosques and a tomb as an old remain,
kurtkulagi mosque and Yilankale, Tumlukale and
Sirkeli huyuk, Muvatlah relief.
