The most important
poets are Karacaoglan and Dadaloglu.
There are also many excellent poets who are only
known locally.
The best example of Çukurova has been given in
the Dervish Literature Style.
It started before Islam and eventually became
written rather than oral.
Besides the famous Karacaog lan and Dadaloglu
who travelled around Çukurova with their "saz"
instruments on their backs, other poets include
Asik Yusuf, ilbeyliog-lu, Deli Boran, Asik: Abdullah,
Gundeslioglu, Kara Osman, Kul Halil, Kul Seydi
Uggozoglu,
Asik Ali ilhami, Asik Omer, Asik Huseyin, Derdiçek,
ince Arap, Asik imami, Asik Halil Karabulut, Asik
Kid Mustafa, Asik Haci Karakilçik, Feymani, Asik
Abdulvahap Koca-man, Asik Deli Hazim Demirci,
and sair Dagistan Kiliçarslan.
They introduced Cukurova culture with their poems
and epochs of sorrow and joy.
Women poets are just as famous as the men.
The most famous include Dudu, Nazli Gelin, and
Sinem Kiz from Karaisali County; Hasibe Hatun
from the Avsar tribe, and Hasibe Ramazanoglufrom
Adana.
Cukurova culture has also been worked and folk
culture by the researc writing of Halil Atilgan,
the Social-Economic with novels of Cukurova of
Yasar Kemal, history and culture researches of
Cezmi Yurtsever and ismet ipek, photograph and
painting of cultural heritage of Yusuf Erkisi,
Cukurova region archaeological researches with
founder Head of Department Archaeology and Art
History of Cukurova University of Associate Professor
Dr. K. Serdar Girginer, painter Ahmet Akata and
by many others.
