The ruins show that it's used since Hitit Kingdom. Sar Ruins, monuments on Doganbeyli,
Hanyeri roads, keep Hitit period features. Someruins belong to Rome Byzantine.
In today's center, Turkish tribes settled and it had grown. It was a subdistrict called "Hoketce" bound Saimbeyli and then it became a county in April, 23, 1958 called "Magara", In July, 1958. It was called "Tufanbeyli" because of Osman Tufan Bey who had successful affairs in indepen dence war.

It's center was establishedon veryncar to Taurus Mountains in North earst of Adana. There are 30 villages. In 2000 population is
20.171, 5.332 of them in the center and others in villages. "sar" is a village, 20 /cms, far from Tufanbeyli in the North east very near to Kayseri board in the south.

"Anfiteatr" is on the hill at the left side of the river.
Ruins of Church, from Byzantine period is attractive but the top of it fell down by the thunderbolt "Alakapi" which is thought the main door of the Goddes temple is 6 metres high and 3 metres wide.
There is a king figure on a rock which was found out in Gebzeli near Kayseri in 1939 and it's thought that it bellogns to Hitit Kingdom.
It's 2.10 metres high. In addition to this, remains, there are stone tombs, houses in rocks, columns in Tufanbeyli.
