The building belonging
to Atatürk and Etnography
Museum in Hisarkapı
Uluyolu, Bozkurt
Quarter of Center
of Uşak Province,
has been constructed
in 1890s.
This building, which
belongs to a respectable
family of Uşak,
known as Kaftancızadeler,
was used as a headquarters
during the Independence
War.

Atatürk,
met Greece Army
Commander Trikopis
in this building
and took his weapon
and sword with his
staff consisting
of İsmet Pasha (İsmet
İnönü), Halit Akmansu
(Dadaylı Halit)
and Asım Pasha (Asım
Gündüz). Although
commander Trikopis
was a slave, he
was welcomed with
Turkish hospitality
by Atatürk. Regional
and ethnographic
materials, the historical
carpets of Uşak
and kilims

of Eşme, old weapons,
clothes, and other
works are exhibited
in the entrance
part of the two
- floored wooden
building. Second
floor is completely
designed as Atatürk
Museum. The mirrors
belonging to that
time, tripods, armchairs,
bedroom of Atatürk
and clothes of Atatürk
are here.
