Military Headquarters Museum
When the Turkish army was
retreating to the Sakarya Line
in the War of Independence,
Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal
set up his headquarters here
in this farmhouse decorated
according to Turkish tastes
and directed the war from here.
This building used as a
military headquarters was donated
by the sons of Mahmut and Şerafettin
Türkoğlu, the sons of Türkoğlu
Ali as a museum to be built
by the National Education Ministry.
The building and its gardens
were restored by the ministry
and opened with ceremony to
visitors on November 10, 1968.
Today it is a branch of Anıtkabir
