with reproducing populations of Squacco Heron (Ardeola
ralloides) (30 pairs), Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina)
(50 pairs), Ferruginous Duck (Aythya nyroca) (10 pairs)
and White-headed Duck (Oxyura leucocephala) (2 pairs).
At the end of autumn and before spring, huge numbers
of water birds (max. 78.590), including Red-crested
Pochard (Netta rufina) (max. 673), Ferruginous Duck
(Aythya nyroca) (max.200) and Coot (Fulica atra) (max.
70.100) can be observed.
