The stabilised road indicated by a road sign at the entrance of Uzuncaburç village passes through the antique city of Olba which lies 4 km further down.
Olba, the capital of the Kingdom of Olba, was

ruled by priest-kings in the Seleucid period. The lands of the Kingdom of Olba stretched down to the Mediterranean so as to include the town of Kanlidivane (Canytellis). the original site of the settlement. However during the Roman and Byzantine eras the city spread to the western slopes of the hill and towards the plains.
Among the major structures in the city, there are the Roman fountain, aqueducts, theatre, baths, mausoleum, and the ruins of some churches and monasteries from the Byzantine times.
